This was the first white wine we made at Bedrock Wine Co., modeled after the great whites of Bordeaux that I love so much. Based around some of the oldest Semillon plantings in the world located on the rolling mountainside of iron and basalt-inflected that is called Monte Rosso Vineyard, this wine showcases the unctuousness, texture, mineral weight and spice that defines this great site. Sauvignon Blanc from Bedrock, Judge and Uboldi were blended in to add brightness and aromatic ornamentation. One of the longest-lived whites we make (the 2008, 2009 and 2010 are in a great drinking window right now), this wine will develop more Semillon nuance over time.
