A Collection of Business Card Games Inspired by Stoicism
Areté is a Greek word that is commonly translated as “excellence”, but its meaning goes beyond that, and could actually be translated as “living as your best self.” And in Stoicism, this would mean living well, according to the famous Stoic virtues Courage, Wisdom, Moderation and Justice.
"These small Business Card Games are a mixture of game and thought exercises. They are inspired by many of the teachings and concepts I have studied over the last couple of years. They were created mainly for myself, as a way to deal with my anxiety.
Stoicism has been a great tool and, why not, guiding philosophy for me during the pandemic and beyond. During 2020 my mental health took a turn for the worst and one of things that helped me get back on track and even go beyond is Stoicism.
So, as it happens with most of the things I get excited about, I made a few games inspired by it.
I hope you enjoy it. I hope it is useful for you."
